The Raptors had a brilliant game plan coming into the game against the Clippers. They planned to feed Jonas Valanciunas, and their plan worked beautifully. JV dropped 12 points early on in the quarter. OG Anunoby had a good start to the game as he scored 7 points. Clippers Forward Tobias Harris led Los Angeles with 13 points. Toronto led Los Angeles 35-28 after one.
The Bench Mob got it going for the Raptors during the 2ndquarter, led by Fred VanVleet. Steady Freddy scored 8 points, while Pascal Siakam put up 5. With 7:17 remaining in the half, VanVleet pulled up from the logo and drilled in a three-pointer. Former Raptor and 6th Man of the Year front runner - Lou Williams - had a nice quarter for the Clippers as he scored 6 points. The Raptors led the Clippers 60-53 heading into halftime.
The Clippers started to get their act together coming out of the halftime. Los Angeles's Austin Rivers led his squad with 7 points. Wesley Johnson added on 6 points for the Clippers. Siakam and C.J. Miles combined for 13 points in Toronto's favor. The Raptors out-rebounded the Clippers 16-12, but Los Angeles was able to convert on a higher percentage of their shots. The game was all tied up at 80-80 going into the final period.
Williams had a huge 4th quarter for the Clippers. Lou scored 18 points in the quarter, and was the spark plug that Los Angeles needed. VanVleet and DeMar DeRozan combined for 14 points in the period, but it wasn't enough in order for the Raptors to regain the lead. The Raptors were defeated by The Clippers 117-106.
